Contracts and LOI signed during trade mission

During the 10-day trade mission headed by HRH Prince Philippe, 60 contracts or letters of intent (LOI) were signed between Belgian and Chinese companies. The major ones are briefly listed below:
The Port of Antwerp officially inaugurated the new rail Silk Road between Chongqing and Antwerp, a rail link offering fast transport of cargo between the two cities.
B-Post international has signed an LOI with its Chinese partner Trade2CN to transport goods ordered by e-mail from China to Europe, thereby facilitating online sales. The agreement offers a logistics platform for online vendors. Trade2CN is representing more than 40,000 companies and brands in China. In early 2012, B-Post plans to open its own sales office in Beijing.
Hamon will jointly build the highest cooling tower at a nuclear plant in the world in Xianning. A Chinese partner will install the concrete casing, but Hamon will supply the cooling installations. The tower will be 209 meters high.
The Franco Dragone Entertainment Group signed an agreement with Dalian Wanda to permanently offer shows and build theaters in five Chinese cities.
RSscan signed a contract with the Chinese sport shoes industry to deliver its scan technology to measure the pressure on the feet during running.
Egemin Automation is offering its driverless technology to Hangzhou Rainbow Technology to produce driverless forklift trucks. The company also signed a technological agreement with Tsinghua University to set up the Sino-Euro Technology Innovation Center to promote cooperation between Chinese and European companies. Earlier this year Egemin opened offices in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
AppliTek signed a contract with Beijing SysTek Orient Environment to supply analyzers to measure the pollution in river water in Beijing.
Good!D will for the first time distribute its Hupple dog cookies in China through an agreement with the Beijing Fulinkaili Trade Corporation worth €7.5 million.
Lapauw International, a manufacturer of industrial washing machines, will access the Chinese market through a joint venture with Innoway. It will sell washing machines mainly to hotels and hospitals.
Brewer Corsendonk will yearly deliver through a Chinese partner – Zhengyuan Youshi – 5,000 hectoliters of beer (Pater Dubbel, Agnus Tripel and Tempelier, brewed in Purnode, close to Dinant) to state-owned supermarkets in China. The agreement is valid for 12 years. Following a trial contract in 2008, China imported 2,000 hectoliter Corsendonk beer last year, equivalent to 10% of the brewer’s production.
Solvay is raising is share in a sodium carbonate plant by two-thirds. The initial investment amounts to €60 million. Tianjin Soda Ash is Solvay’s partner in the joint venture, which has 700 employees.
Liege Airport and Chongqing Airport Group have signed a cooperation agreement. Four B747-400 cargo services will weekly link both cities.
The University of Antwerp and the University of Chongqing will cooperate in student exchanges.
Several Chinese companies signed agreements to set up start-ups at the incubator zone in Neder-over-Heembeek.
The Study Center for Atomic Energy (SCK) signed an agreement with Tianjin Huan-Ou Semiconductor Material & Technology to irradiate silicon.
