Eight Sino-Belgian trade agreements signed

Following the EU-China Summit, Premier Li Keqiang paid a courtesy call to Belgian King Philippe. Prime Minister Charles Michel welcomed his Chinese counterpart at Hertoginnedal, together with the four Belgian Vice Premiers Kris Peeters, Jan Jambon, Alexander De Croo and Didier Reynders. Representatives of both countries signed eight trade agreements, related to the cooperation of Chinese harbors with those of Antwerp and Zeebrugge, and on hygiene and quarantine measures for the export of Belgian cattle to China, among others. Bekaert and Agfa-Graphics both signed a strategic cooperation agreement with their Chinese partners to further expand their business in China.Telenet and ZTE signed an agreement to co-develop the 5G mobile phone technology.
At the conclusion of Premier Li’s visit to Hertoginnedal, a Volvo Concept 40.1 car was presented to illustrate the future Volvo XC40, which will be manufactured in Ghent.
